Cape Town, South Africa
Popularly referred to as “The Mother City”. Cape town has always been on the list of top holiday destinations. In fact, in 2014, it was named the best place in the world to visit by The New York Times. Cape town is indeed a beautiful city.
Since it was first colonized in 1652, the city was tossed back and forth between two of the greatest colonial powers of the time, the British and the Dutch. The Dutch were in charge for the first century and a half after colonization. Britain took over in 1795, only to lose the colony to the Dutch in 1803. Another three years passed before the Cape was back in British hands, where it stayed for the next century and a bit before being finally granted independence in the early 1900s. Although it took another 90 years afterwards before the first democratic elections took place. The city was largely developed by it’s European colonial masters.
It’s amazingly beautiful infrastructures are second to none in Africa and among the best in the world. And that is asides the beautiful scenery and sights that will leave you smiling in amazement.
So when next you think of a beautiful place, be it for leisure, or a holiday destination, fynnest.com has endorsed Cape town as one City that wouldn’t fall short of your expectations. It is one of Africa’s finest destinations. Home of hospitality!
